The documentary was first premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival in summer of 2017 under the name Run While You Can where it recieved critical acclaim. Several more festivals followed and two years later it finally got wider release through the streaming services.
The film follows Sam Fox as he launches a highly publicized campaign to break the speed record on the Pacific Crest Trail and raise $250,000 for Parkinson’s disease in honor of his mother. The Trail is the one that connects Canada to Mexico via one continuous footpath 2,650 grueling miles in length and while Sam travels it he quickly learns what it means to struggle in the spotlight.
